What are Decorative Finishes?

A Decorative Finishes (a.k.a. Faux Finishes) are custom art for your walls. Decorative finishes vary in techniques and applications using plasters, glazes, paint and/or colorants. As we like to say, “If a surface can be primed, we can turn it into art.” To see examples of Average to art’s samples, please click on our “samples” page.

How do Decorative Finishes compare to wallpaper?

Why use expensive wall paper that will peel and fade with time? Our finishes are a better value than wallpaper in almost any room. We custom mix all of our colors to fit your specific needs so you don’t have to depend trends nor what regional retail stores think you want. Average to art can custom design a unique finish and color to make sure it matches your décor and personality- you deserve the best!

Where can I put a mural?

Murals are a perfect touch to any home or business.  Murals can be painted directly on the wall OR painted on canvas or various materials that can be adhered to the wall.  Murals painted on canvas, for example, can be attached to the wall in a way that you may take the mural down and move it to another room or house.  Whether you want to inspire your children, build moral with your employees or customer loyalty, a mural is a beautiful way to dress up the interior or exterior of your home or business.

What are Floor Cloths?

In the US, Floor Cloths date back to the early eighteenth and nineteenth century to add decorative flooring to homes and businesses.  They are painted to last on a strong cotton duct canvas to add color, design, and function to your home or business.  Floor Cloths are custom designed and sized based on individual client specifications.   Floor cloths look great under a dining room table, front entry, hall way, kitchen, powder room, living room, or any room with hard flooring.  Floor cloths may be used in high traffic areas and are perfect for the family with small children because of their easy cleanup.
