Alissa Murnane
Owner/Principle Artist
Average to Art's Alissa Murnane hit the road following her summer 2001 Ohio State University graduation in search of some serious inspiration. Undeterred but forever marked by the events of September 11, Murnane packed her truck, traveling from the emotional epicenters of New York City and Washington DC to reflective nooks of Maine, to the awe-inspiring Redwood forests and the white sands of New Mexico. Not content to end her journey stateside, Murnane hopped a plane to Okinawa, Japan, not knowing this detour would have her staying in the country for 2 years or that she would meet her future husband who was stationed there as a marine. Settling in the Huntsville, AL in the summer of 2003, Murnane's passion for adventure and allergy to office environments spawned Average to Art. The growing company lends well to Murnane's commitment to passionate purpose, strict ethics and quality in every facet of life. Murnane specializes in decorative finishes, painted furniture, murals and custom art.
